Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel tower was name after Gustave Eiffel. Eiffel built the tower. He was born in 1832. He Graduated from the central school of Engineering in Paris. Gustave proposed a 989 foot tower of iron as symbol of the exhibition in the world's fair of Paris. Forty Engineers and designers under Eiffel's direction worked for two years. The Tower was completed inn march 1899. It is 324 meters tall about the same height as an 81 storieyd building which was the tallest structure in the world. It is the most visited paid monument in the world and about 20 million people has visited the tower since its construction. The bank of the seine including the Eiffel Tower received UNESCO world Heritage status in 1991.
